Walking to Heel Dog Training Melton Mowbray

About Me

"When you need me, but do not want me, then I must stay. When you want me, but no longer need me, then I have to go.”

I am an experienced Dog Trainer covering both Derby and Melton Mowbray and the surrounding areas, I have a lot to offer with a wealth of experience with many breeds under my belt, having trained dogs for many years.

Dog Whisperer Kim Dog Training Spondon

I have a background as a Manager in the Engineering Rail Industry but always had a passion to work with dogs. This stems from my teens when I would ‘borrow’ a neighbours’ dog, go to the local park and train to the best of my ability. This grew into a busy lifestyle that set the scene for my future in dog training.
I made the brave decision to give up this stable career to follow that passion and set up as a home border and dog trainer/walker at my facility, based in Derby.
Within no time at all, I had become so successful that I was unable to find enough time for all the aspects of my business and decided to focus on the areas that I knew customers needed most, puppies and adolescent dogs.
Puppies and adolescents can be very testing for the owners and instilling manners can require patience and a skill set that not everyone has. This is where I excel. With a depth of knowledge and limitless understanding, I can give a young dog the absolute best start in life, setting a bond between owner and dog that will last a lifetime.
Having worked closely with various charities, I am all too familiar with dogs being put into rescue because they did not get the right start.

Lead Walking Dog Training Derby

I trained under the guidance of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers; where I achieved my second grade Certificate in Basic Instructional Technique but strive to better my skill sets and improve my knowledge base. I continue to study and improve my qualifications, having already qualified in Canine First Aid. I have undertaken my NASDU (National Association of Security Dog Users) Security Dog Handlers qualification to widen my knowledge base and extend my skill set in many areas. Doing this while shadowing the NASDU trainer Mike Beasley solely for the purpose of self-improvement.

Strengths and issues include early puppy training, lead walking, nervousness, fear aggression, possession aggression, reactivity, separation anxiety, adolescence, interaction socialisation and recall all fall within my specialist skill set; the results speak for themselves. Behaviour will improve through the ongoing training.
